ESPC hosted our first in-person SHAPE Wyoming grassroots lobbyist training, January 23rd in three years. We were grateful to have activists from every corner of the state join us to learn about advocating, lobbying, and using their stories to affect change.
We started our day with a keynote address from Marcie Kindred, one of Wyoming’s best storytellers. Marcie reminded attendees that everyone’s story has power and we should share our stories to change the world.
Attendees also heard from Riana Davidson of LSO and Representative Dan Zwonitzer on the ins and outs of policy making including a deep dive into Wyoleg.org. We learned how to track our priority bills and insider perspective on the legislative process.
On our second day we headed to the People’s House to put our new skills to use. The SHAPE Cohort was recognized on the House and Senate floor with participants attending committee meetings, lobbying their lawmakers, and sharing their stories.
We want to remind you that your voice is vital to improving Wyoming for all. We can’t wait to see what you accomplish.
