Cheyenne, WY – The Equality State Policy Center (ESPC) and Wyoming Tax Facts are thrilled to announce their next Tax Facts Lunch & Learn webinar, Taxes and Your Town & County Services. This informative session with Q&A is scheduled for Wednesday, August 27th, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. MDT.
Local governments fund roads, fairgrounds, senior centers, healthcare, law enforcement, water lines, cemeteries, fire departments, waste management, and so much more. How do counties and municipalities support these everyday needs, and what are their options when costs – and needs – increase?
To provide state and local perspectives in answering these questions, ESPC and Wyoming Tax Facts will be joined by House District 16 (Teton County) Representative Mike Yin, Casper City Councilor Amber Pollock, and Jerimiah Rieman, Executive Director of the Wyoming County Commissioners Association.
Participants will gain insights into how local governments are funded through property and sales taxes. We will explore the constitutionally mandated ways in which communities generate revenue to pay for essential services, and review the tools that help them address special goals or challenges.
