Tax Facts Lunch & Learn: Piggy Banks That Pay Bills: Wyoming’s Reserves and You
Cheyenne, WY – The Equality State Policy Center (ESPC) and Wyoming Tax Facts are pleased to announce their next Tax Facts Lunch & Learn webinar, Piggy Banks That Pay Bills: Wyoming’s Reserves and You. This informative session with Q&A is scheduled for Wednesday, January 8th, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. MDT.
As Wyoming’s fickle economy challenges residents and policy makers alike, two of the state’s most knowledgeable leaders will tackle pressing questions about our fiscal future in this webinar. This event will explore the role of state reserves and investments and map the challenges posed by declining mineral revenues.
State Treasurer Chief Investment Officer Patrick Fleming and Representative Steve Harshman (HD 37, Natrona County) will lead the discussion. Fleming will provide an expert overview of Wyoming’s reserve funds, detailing how they are managed, the earnings they generate, and the long-term projections for sustaining the state’s economy.
Representative Harshman, a veteran legislator with experience on the Revenue and Appropriations committees, and former Speaker of the House, will share insights into the legislative options available to address declining mineral revenues.
From practical solutions to policy considerations, Harshman and Fleming will discuss what’s at stake for Wyoming citizens as the 2025 legislative session approaches.
“This webinar is an opportunity for citizens to understand how investment earnings impact their daily lives and the tough decisions Wyoming faces in securing its financial future,” said Sue Sommers, Wyoming Tax Facts founder. “It’s about getting the facts and exploring choices.”
The event is open to the public and free of charge. Register for this January 8th webinar at equalitystate.org/tax
