Step Up for Kids Week in Wyoming
Advocates focus attention on policies affecting children Oct. 2 - 9
In Wyoming, 11,000 children have no health insurance. The Equality State has the highest juvenile incarceration rate in the nation. Nearly one-fourth of Wyoming high school students fail to graduate. Lack of child care options continues to affect workers and their employers across the state.
“We need strong public policies that invest in early education opportunities for all children, support families, and keep them healthy,” said Wyoming Children's Action Alliance Director Deanna Frey.
The week’s events kick off in Jackson on Friday, Oct. 2, with a noon hour event in Miller Park that will feature children’s booths, children’s performances and speakers. Lunch will be available. Click to view a video about Step Up for Kids Week.
